PHILOSOPHICAL BACKGROUND

This repertory is based on the proving symptoms recorded in the 10 volumes of Materia Medica and is essentially an index to the Materia Medica.

This is an ALPHABETICAL REPERTORY, as rubrics are arranged alphabetically and not anatomically as per Hahnemannian schema.

PLAN AND CONSTRUCTION

1.     The rubrics were not included under different anatomical regions, but were distributed alphabetically. Rubrics can be located by referring to the initial letter.

2.     Localization of symptoms are carried out to the fullest extent and under that, general sensations are arranged alphabetically – followed by various sub-parts of the location in alphabetical order.

3.     Under each sensation is included its conditions and peculiarities [time –circumstance – aggravation – amelioration]

4.     Rubrics are printed in Bold Capitals

Sub-rubrics are printed in Bold Roman

5.     General aggravation and amelioration is mentioned as Agg and Amel. Circumstantial aggravation and amelioration is represented by symbols “<” and “>” respectively.

6.     Cross references are given immediately after the rubric as “See …” or it is given in footnotes of that page using symbols.
