HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICAL REPERTORY

By Robin Murphy

The need for an updated repertory to meet the pace of development of modern pathology and internal medicine was fulfilled by Robin Murphy by the publication of HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICAL REPERTORY.

The Homeopathic Medical Repertory was designed to be a modern, practical and easy to use reference guide to the homeopathic Materia Medica.

This repertory can be classified as an Alphabetical Repertory, and can be grouped under Logical Utilitarian Group.

The data for this repertory has been collected from 55 sources.

·         Clinical symptoms / diagnosis available

·         Pathological generals available

·         Complete symptoms are available

·         Cases with paucity of symptoms

MERITS

·         Easy reference because of alphabetical arrangement

·         Addition of CLINICAL RUBRICS and modern terminologies and nomenclature - Candida albicans, Tennis elbow

·         More number of remedies

·         Sections coming under each chapter are given at the chapter index itself

·         Inclusion of new remedies, nosodes, sarcodes and bowel nosodes

DEMERITS

·         Reference of additions is not given individually

·         Reliability of new rubrics such as ‘AIDS'

·         Misplacement of rubrics: eg. Axilla under Shoulder, Urethra under Bladder, Expectoration under Lungs

·         Even though many additions have been made, many omissions are also there

·         Many errors, technical as well as philosophical are there in the repertory.
